Palak Peas curry

Hi

Today I am sharing with one of the popular healthy leafy vegetable which is bright green in colour with a combination of green peas ie PALAK PEAS CURRY. Moreover this lovely palak is from our kitchen garden.

With sharp variation I did this curry. The mild sweetness of peas mix with palak gives good taste. I made this simple with little spicy ingredients available in kitchen. A handful of ingredients brings delicious taste and flavor to any curry in addition to ones cooking skills. This recipe is from my daughters kitchen who is in U.K.

OK. Let us go to prepare.

Ingredients
  • Palak                                3 cups(chopped)
  • Green peas                       1 cup
  • Onion                               1 (chopped finely)
  • Cumin seeds                     1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon stick                little piece
  • Chopped Ginger              1/2 tbsp
  • Chopped Garlic               1/2 tbsp
  • Dry red chiilies                 2
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
How I did
  1. Wash palak properly with running water and chop finely.
  2. Wash peas and half boil with little water and keep aside.
  3. Take a wok, add little oil, let it heat.
  4. Add cumin seed, let it fry , add cinnamon, chopped garlic, chopped ginger, teared dry red mirchi.
  5. Give good stir and then add chopped onion. Let them fry till becomes transparent.
  6. Add Chopped palak. Stir well . Cover with lid.
  7. Add half boiled peas after palak 50 % cooked.
  8. Add salt. Careful about salt as palak is a bit salty due to sodium content.
  9. Cook for 5 minutes.
  10. See the consistency, it is like semi liquid.
  11. Already peas are half boiled, it won't take much time to cook along with palak.
  12. Our palak peas curry is ready to eat.
  13. Take out the recipe in a bowl and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Serve and eat hot with garama garam rice /roti.

My Notes

You can prepare palak puree also. The remaining procedure is same.
You can add tomato puree also.
You can use this palak peas curry for sandwich also.
You can keep this in roti , roll it and give to your kids, happily they will eat.
