Boondi Curry

Hi Friends

Today we are making another simple and tasty item BOONDI CURRY. Some might be puzzled what this curry means. If veggies became pretty boring or no vegetables available in  your fridge you can go for this curry. Very simple and easy to prepare.

OK. Let us go and prepare.

Ingredients
  • Kaara Boondi                                   1 cup
  • Tomoto                                             1 (finely chopped)
  • Onion                                                1 (chopped)
  • Besan                                                1/2 tbsp
  • Green chillies                                    2
  • Red chilli powder                              1/8 tbsp
  • Coriander powder
  • Garam masala powder                      1/2 tbsp
  • Curd                                                   1/2 cup
  • Water                                                  required say 1/4 cup
  • Turmeric powder
  • Oil
  • Salt
How I did it
  1. Mix water and curd. Check the consistency. Not too thick nor thin.
  2. Add red chilli powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, salt, coriander powder and besan and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  3. Take pan, add little oil and let it heat.
  4. Add mustard seeds, green chillies, then chopped onion. Fry onion till transparent.
  5. Add chopped tomato and cook till cooked.
  6. Add curd, besan mixture to it.
  7. Cook and let the mixture cook. It takes 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Finally add kaara bundi and switch off the stove.
Transfer into a bowl and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with hot rice and roti.

My Note

  1. Careful about salt. Already kaara boondi has salt.
  2. Besan and curd gives taste and thickness to curry. Don't add too much boondi as boondi itself is made out of besan.
  3. You can add kaara bundi before serving. So that curry could be little crispy.
