This dish bottle gourd/sorakaya kootu is delicious Indian dish made of vegetables and lentil based. This dish is semi solid in consistency not watery. Today I had prepared sorakaya kootu. I want to show the aroma of hing to my daughters family which we add finally to kootu. It gives good flavour to the dish. They like this yammy yammy dish very much. Try at once and taste this dish..

You can make this kootu with brinjal, raw banana or any other mixed vegetables depending upon your taste.

Ingredients
- Bottle gourd/sorakaya 1 medium size (peeled and cubed)
- Channadal 1/4 cup( Soak for 30 minutes)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh grated coconut 1/4 cup
- Kaskas 1/4 tbsp
- Green mirchi 6
- Daniya 1/4 tbsp
- Mustered seeds
- Turmeric powder pinch
- Dry red chilli 1 tear
- Hing pinch
- Oil or ghee 1tbsp
- Put sorakaya and soaked channa dal in pressure cooker and cook it till you get 2 wistles.
- Meantime make fine paste with the above shown ingredients. Keep aside.
- Mix this paste in cooked sorakaya and channa mix and mix it well by adding salt..
- Keep it on a medium flame and cook for 10 minutes till the texture should make into semisolid not waterly.
- Then take popu pan add 1 tbsp of oil or ghee, let it heat add mustered seeds , red chilli and curry leaves.
- Finally add pinch of hing to it and mix it to sorakaya kootu.
- Stir well and cook for 2 more minutes.
How to prepare
Serve it hot hot with rice or chapati.
You can make this kootu with brinjal, raw banana or any other mixed vegetables depending upon your taste.
