Karamani Vada

Generally we make vadas with Urad Dal or Chana Dal. This is a different recipe made in combination of Chana Dal and Karamani. It is different in taste and can be eaten as snack during evenings.

Ingredients
  • Dry karamani             2 cups
  • Channa dal                 1/2 cup
  • Dry red mirchi             2
  • Green chilles               2
  • Onion                         2 small chopped
  • Jeera                          1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves              
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
How to prepare
  1. Soak karamani  and chanaa dal for 6 hours. Drain well.
  2. Grind coarsely not so softly by adding red mirchi and green mirchi.
  3. Don't add much water at the time of grinding.
  4. Take this batter into bowl add chopped onion, jeera, salt and cut curry pieces mix it well.
  5. Mean time  heat the oil in frying pan on a medium heat
  6. Take small polethene cover or planintain leaf make vadas and drop one by one in it.
  7. Fry them both sides till it turns brown.
Serve with allam chutney.


Note. This snack item likes every one mostly children as they are crispy and tasty. It is a good source of protein.


Byadding much more spices the typical taste of karamani vadas goes off.
By adding channa dal taste will be yummy..
