Gobi Matar

Hi Viewers

Today I am coming up with semi gravy, masala curry with mild flavor particularly suits for roti and dosa ie GOBI MUTTER curry. Easy to prepare and ingredients reqired are basic from our kitchen.

OK. Let us go to prepare the so flavorful curry.

Ingredients
  • Cauliflower                          2 cups
  • Matar                                    1 cup
  • Onion                                    1 finely chopped
  • Tomato                                 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger paste                         1tbsp
  • Green Chilli paste                1 tbsp
  • Corainder powder                1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds                         1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder                1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder         1 tbsp
  • Kasoori Methi
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil
  • Coriander leaves for garnishing.
How I did it
  1. Cut the gobi into medium florets.
  2. Take a sauce pan and boil water in it. Add little salt and then boil the florets for 5 minutes.
  3. Take a wok, add oil and fry the florets until goldern brown and keep them aside.
  4. In the same wok add oil. Let it heat on medium heat.
  5. Then add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
  6. Add turmeric powder and chopped onion.
  7. Add chopped tomatoes and cook them until soft.
  8. Add ginger paste and green chillies paste.
  9. Add matar and let it cook for until they become soft.
  10. Now add fried florets and mix well.
  11. Next add garam masala powder, red chilli powder and corainder powder.
  12. Add Kasoori methi and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.
  13. Garnish with coriander leaves.
It goes well with rice and roti and also dosa.

My tip
  • You could also add the florets without frying them seperately. I like to fry them seperately and then add to the curry which will retain the shape of the florets and also tastes crunchy.
  • Instead of onion you can use spring onion also.
  • Add cashewnut paste for a richer taste.
