Minapa Pindi Pulusu

Hi

Today I am coming close to my viewers with the delicious dish/pulusu ie minapa pindi pulusu. This recipe is from my grand mothers kitchen. Normally I am interested in cooking  new verities. Generally we prepare this minapa pindi pulusu when we are out of vegetables in our house ie in emergency.

OK let us check what we need to make this.

INGREDIENTS
  • Urad dal  ( gundu minapa pappu)                               1/4 cup
  • Tamarind                                                                   lemon size
  • Turmeric powder                                                      pinch
  • Red mirchi powder                                                    1 1/2 tbsp
  • Sugar                                                                         2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves
  • Onion                                                                        medium size (finely chopped)
POPU           
  • Oil
  • Mustered seeds
  • Hing



HOW TO PREPARE
  1. Fry minapa gundlu in dry pan it till turns golden brown.
  2. Blend it into fine powder.
  3. Soak tamarind for 10 minutes and take juice out of it.
  4. Take 1 cup of water in a vessel,  add the minapa flour in it and mix it until it dissolves completely.
  5. Make sure no lumps are formed. If you add minapa floor directly into tamarind juice lumps are formed.
  6. Then add tamarind juice, red mirchi powder, salt, sugar, turmeric powder and curry leaves.
  7. Boil the pulusu for 5 minutes, stir frequently.
  8. Switch off the stove.
  9. Finally add chopped onion. Mix well.
  10. Take popu pan, warm the oil add mustard seeds and pinch of hing mix it in the pulusu.
  11. Your kitchen will be filled with the flavour of hing and minapa pulusu.

Serve this mouth watering dish in combination with mudda pappu and ghee with garama garam rice.
