Panasa Ginjala fry

This Jack fruit (panasa pandu) is commonly used in South India. Riped jack fruit is naturally sweetish with lovely flavor and yellow colour with sweet smell. Unriped jack fruit can also be cooked. But it takes much time to cook.The trunk or wood of the jack fruit tree is used for preparation of musical instrument Veena. Jack fruit is having many healthy benefits. Dry the jack fruit seeds in the sun , after dried make them powder. It relieves you from indigestion. These seeds are from riped jack fruit.

Today I am coming with Panasa Ginjala(jack fruit seeds) Fry. Very easy preparation. It is a great tea time snack . Takes little time for preparation. These seeds are gathered from riped jack fruit.
                                                  Jack Fruit   Seeds (boiled)
Ingredients
  • Jack fruit seeds
  • Dry red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for fry

How to prepare
  1. Wash and cook the jack fruit seeds in pressure cooker till you get 4 to 5 whistles.
  2. Let them cool .
  3. Remove the thin outer skin. The inner colour would be white.
  4. Cut the each seed into 2 or 3 round pieces.
  5. Take pan add oil and heat it on a medium flame.
  6. Add cut jack fruit seeds and fry them till they turn into brown.
  7. If any excess oil, strain it.
  8. Then add salt and red mirchi powder and stir well.`

Take it as snack along with garam garam chai.


My tip

These seeds roasted  on open fire also.
Dried seeds can be stored and used during the non-season.
