Pudina Chutney

Pudina or Mint is a herb in lovely green in color. This is a South Indian dish. Extremely favorable with katta meeta taste. As it is a herb, it is good for health. I prepare it frequently. All my family members like this.
Ingredients


  • Fresh Pudina  1 bunch or handful
  • Dry red mirch  10
  • Channa dal  1 tbsp
  • Tour dal  1tbsb
  • Daniya  1 tbsp
  • Tamarand Paste 2 tbsps
  • Jaggery Powder 2 tbsps
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil  1 tbsp



How to prepare

  1. Wash pudina and allow it to drain. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan. Add all ingredients one by one (except salt and tamarind) and let it roast for some time.’Keep aside for some time and let it cool
  3. Grind the fried ingredients into fine powder.
  4. Then add tamarind paste, jaggery powder and salt and grind
  5. Add pudina and grind it into soft paste.
  6. Serve with hot hot rice and a chamcha of ghee. You will be licking your fingers .

Note

Do not fry pudina as it is aroma remains when it is used fresh.Don'tt add too many ingredients like garlic coconut etc. The flavor of the pudina will be lost.

  • Keep it in refregerater for further use also. You can eat it with dosa, idly, samasa, chat or sandwich when ever you want.
